Red
Line's big brother, Spark Models, www.sparkmodel.com started
out making contemporary Le Mans 24 Hour racers but has
since expanded into sports, concept and historic cars along
with Land Speed Record cars, racing car transporters etc....
So
we decided that we had to start widening our focus at Red Line
too. In addition to the recent models in 1/24th and 1/87
scales you will soon be seing more historic
Ferraris. The already released Modulo concept car , the F40,
the 312PB and the newly issued road going Daytona
will soon be joined by some Group 4 racing versions of the
Daytona as well as a spyder. The all time classic 250
GTO, in road and racing versions, of course. The 330 Le Mans
1962 winner, driven by Phil Hill will be joined by the
Pinin Farina P5 Concept car.
When
we model a particular car, we really try and do exactly that.
For example, when we model a 250 GTO we take a
particular car's chassis number and then try and chase down
all the details that make that particular car different from
all the other 250 GTOs. They were hand made in aluminium and
varied in a variety of ways from each other. One
might have wider wheel arches. Another might have different
air scoops, nose treatment or lights, or rear spoiler and
so on.. ... From our archives of books, magazines and
photographs we try and follow a car as it was modified from
one race to another. We really want to bring you the best
models we possibly can.
We
shall also make this year's F1 car in 1/43 scale. With
all the small surface flaps, winglets and aerofoils that have
been sprouting like flick knives in a bar fight all over the
cars this year. They are going to be very difficult to model
well but we think we can do it.
So
please keep visiting the site and look out for our new models.
